In this video Pastor Pavel Goia talks about praying in one accord — not Honda Accord.

If your church has a very few members, you will be blessed from watching the Pastor’s video. You will find out how his very first church in USA grew to 120 members.

Pastor Pavel Goia Sermon: Pray in One Accord (Upper Room)

In this video Pastor Goia had started his sermon about answered prayers.

Are all your prayers answered?

No! I had several prayers were not answered.

I am very sure that some of your prayers were an unanswered too.

But the Pastor had revealed that the Bible has assured us that there’s a kind of prayer that God will surely answer our prayers. If the prayer is done in this method your prayers will be answered.

Churches or people who were motivated to pray in this manner, their prayers were answered.

Why Prayers are Not Answered?

There are verses in the Bible about God answering our prayers. The verses promise that God will answer our prayers but with conditions, such as:

Here are a few reasons why God don’t answer our prayers.

If it’s not according to His will – your prayers will never be answered.

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us…

1 John 5:14-15 KJV

…that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

John 15:16 KJV

If we don’t believe – we will not receive what we ask for.

And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Matthew 21:22 KJV

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Mark 11:24 KJV

If we have wrong motives

Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

James 4:3 KJV

If you doubt:

But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.

James 1:6, 7

Bible Verses: Prayers Will Surely Be Answered

But Pastor Pavel Goia brought it to the congregation’s attention that there are a few Bible verses that your prayer will surely be answered.

These prayers don’t come with conditions. God will surely answer your prayers.

The Bible verses below have assured us that if at least 2 persons will gather together and agree to pray for one purpose God will answer their prayers.

That’s what God did exactly to the disciples who prayed together in one accord and in one place when they were in the upper room in Jerusalem.

This event happened when Jesus went back to heaven.

You can read more about this event in Acts chapters 1 and 2.

Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.

Matthew 18:20

When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

Acts 2:1

These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication…

Acts 1:14

Jesus instructed the disciples to go to Jerusalem and to wait for the Promise of the Father.

The disciples had one agreement: Pray for the Holy Spirit to come down. This was their only purpose of praying together.

Mrs. Ellen G. White said that the disciples gathered together and were dedicated and were committed to prayer.

These disciples were even afraid of the Pharisees who were after their lives. Each had problems of their own lives. They set aside and forgot about their very own needs and sufferings. They didn’t ask blessings for themselves.

They were united and praying for one purpose and request – to receive the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, promised by the Father.

Do you know what does “Pray for One Accord” means? It means to forget all other things, and unite to ask only one thing.

The disciples received the Holy Spirit and the result was tremendous result: thousands were baptized every day that were added to the church.

Pastor Pavel Goia’s: First Church Prayer Ministry

Pastor Goia shared his experience when he was assigned to Wisconsin. This was his first assignment right after he graduated from Andrews University.

He thought that he would be assigned in a territory with a big church with a lot of members, because of his so many accomplishments and abilities. But on the very first Sabbath, when he came to the church, there were only 5 elderly ladies. All in all, together with his family, there were only 9 worshippers that Sabbath day. According to Pastor Goia that it was so depressing to see with only few worshippers.

Personally, this is how I felt also. It was so depressing when you stepped into the church on Sabbath and there’s only a handful of people.

He would like to have a church with varied ages: babies, young kids, young adults and young at hearts. The ages of the 5 women that were there were 70 – 90 years old. He feared that the following day he would be doing funerals, then he would not have a church.

He was not motivated to preach but one of the women said: “Pastor, we paid tithes and so you better preach.”

He preached and went home and felt depressed. He told his wife that they would move out and go other place where there is a bigger church.

But his wife said: “No, we should not move, but get out of the ministry.” She challenged the Pastor and further said: “You said in your sermon whenever 2 or 3 pray in one accord it will be given to them. Why don’t you get these 5 ladies and pray in one accord?”

Pastor Paul Goia talked to the lady church elder that it was so depressing to see the church is so empty.

Well, I don’t want to spoil the story. Watch the video: “Pastor Pavel Goia: Pray In One Accord” and find out how the church increased membership.
